MIKE PROCTER FOUNDATION UK
In 2014, Mike initiated the Mike Procter Foundation to run a project to enhance the lives of the children who attend Ottawa Primary School, in a settlement close to Durban. By introducing sport into their lives he has used cricket as a vehicle to improve self-esteem and an escape from the realities of their daily lives. With many of the children being HIV positive and in some cases orphans they face a daily struggle against hunger and crime; it is, without doubt, one of the toughest challenges Mike has faced.
PROJECT BRIEF
The project brief for Mike Procter Foundation UK was made up of 2 parts.
The first phase involved creating a fully functioning event landing page mini-site integrated with a sales cart and donation functionality to enable selling of e-tickets and receipt of donations to the event which was being held at South Africa House London.
The second phase: The brief was to design and develop a full website with eCommerce functionality which will allow for book sales and online donations to the Mike Procter Foundation UK. The book sale functionality was to include a backend database to collect buyers’ details for shipping. They wanted a website where donors could also download donor and gift aid forms and process them offline. A short instructional video was also made for those wanting to donate online. We also created a news hub with blog posts featuring news, events and updates on the work of the foundation in South Africa.
